“Hector is an amazing/incredible nurse who always goes above and beyond for every patient. He treats all patients as if they were his own family.
Not too long ago, we had a patient on the unit who was extremely anxious and depressed. In addition to this, she only spoke Spanish, which added to her solitude. Hector would actively seek to cheer her up and use his Spanish speaking to make her feel seen and heard. He even brought her in her favorite pastry from her home country.”
“He would take the scrub top off his back to give to a patient or their loved one.”
“What can I say about Hector.... He doesn’t realize how amazing he is as a person, nurse, and co-worker. He takes time to really get to know his patients. One time, he sat in a patient's room for 3 hours to calm them down. He has a beautiful way with words.”
“Hector is one of the best nurses I’ve ever met. He took time to sit with a patient and talk to her about her past home in El Salvador to make her more comfortable while I was placing an arterial line. The patient wasn’t even his.”
