Heidi Barnett, Registered Nurse
I came into the ED with a history of panic disorder, very upset and scared. Heidi really kept me calm, talked to me, reassuring me, informing me on everything that was going to happen to me. She would not leave the room until I was done talking to her about everything that was scaring me about being in this alarming situation!
She explained all the signs and symptoms of appendicitis to me and my mom. She showed me very kindly where my appendix was located and what tests the doctor may do to me to diagnose appendicitis.
The whole time, she was very sweet and calm in her demeanor, which reflected on me to stay calm. She reassured me that I was not showing signs of severe appendicitis as I was able to jump up and down on my heels, palpate my appendiceal area aggressively, and I had stable vital signs.
She talked me through my panic attack, so I was able to listen to her explain the medical condition. Heidi puts her whole heart into everything she does for her patients! I really appreciated her that night!
