I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 45. It was devastating news, and my head was spinning. I had breast cancer surgery at KH in July 2024. Heidi was my nurse heading into surgery. Although my nerves were at an all-time high leading up to surgery, I was oddly calm the day of. It was close to a holidy, so the surgery intake area was almost completely empty. As soon as Heidi came in, my husband and I were even more at ease. She explained things wonderfully and had us cracking up. It was a beautiful experience to be there for such a serious surgery and to receive the type of care and warmth that we got from Heidi. Thank you, Heidi, for shining bright on a day that could've otherwise been very somber.
