We had an unexpected emergency that was also an emotional case involving a newborn. I was the special care nursery nurse and Heidi was the charge nurse. We had not had a case like this before and were in unfamiliar territory. I can't express what a compassionate, experienced, and exemplary nurse Heidi was in this situation. She remained calm and professional and stayed by my side the entire night. We were able to clearly discuss the current plan of care and were able to work with the neonatologist to adjust the infant's care as needed.
Heidi was unbelievably supportive, and I cannot express enough what that meant to me that night.
