Heidi is the true embodiment of collaboration. Heidi demonstrates that she is a collaborative team member by working in the best interests of the patient and family. Heidi works in partnership with her new nurse graduate to ensure that optimal patient care is being delivered while supporting a therapeutic learning experience. Her new nurse resident stated, “I love working with Heidi because I learn something every time we enter a patient’s room.”

Heidi exemplifies our Medical Center PRIDE values as well. Recently Heidi had to navigate a challenging visitor situation during our pandemic-related visitor restriction guidelines. Heidi utilized her communication skills to diffuse the situation. In a calm and respectful manner, she expertly listened, made a special connection with the family, and made a difference in the experience for the patient.

One of Heidi’s colleagues observes that Heidi has an “overall tender presence, a generous-hearted, passionate and inspiring nurse.”
