This has certainly been a challenging year like no other, especially in a new position as Infection Prevention Practitioner. Through it, Heidi Koppelkam pro-actively led our nursing and clinical teams. She is committed, a genuinely considerate communicator, compassionate staff advocate, and problem-solver. She is quick to identify and manage new concerns as they arise and shows sincere initiative to develop new ways of thinking to improve clinical processes. With her many administrative and clinical skills, she has been a true benefit for the entire MEE nursing community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Heidi works in an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, continued professional development and ethical behavior are modeled and supported. Throughout this pandemic, she has made herself available for work-related phone calls, Zoom meetings, or email every day, including weekend days.
