Heidi Nielsen, BSN, RN

Heidi was one of the nurses on staff on Sunday when we had to bring our 8-month old in. She was so very kind and patient with us and offered such a warm presence. We were discharged but ended up having to come back the next day. When we arrived, there were a handful of patients in front of us. Heidi was running triage when she noticed us. She finished up with her patient and then took the time to come out to the lobby to "get eyes on our baby," as she said. She reassured us that he looked okay and not to worry. Her taking the time to do this meant so much to us. We ended up spending 6 hours in the ED. Heidi was an exceptional nurse. She offered us so much wisdom so that we could understand what was going on and not worry when we got back home. She was gentle with our baby, and her care for him was top-notch. Heidi was like an angel, and her presence reminded me of a mother. Nurturing, yet firm. She deserves this award, and I'm sure she will continue to bless many more patients!
