A patient in PCU passed away and had no family that could be located or contacted. Heidi went around the unit to gather staff to share in a moment of silence. It was so great to all gather around the patient and acknowledge his passing, and to let him know he was loved. I hope his spirit felt our presence and is now at peace. A beautiful moment.

Heidi was my preceptor in Ortho when I first started here at St. Clare 3 years ago. She made my transition so easy and took away all the first day jitters. Heidi is so compassionate and caring, not just with her patients, but with her coworkers as well. Heidi often works as a charge nurse and won't take her own break until she knows her coworkers have taken theirs and no one needs any help with any tasks. Heidi is a role model for compassion and integrity.
