Heidi consistently works to advocate for the Veterans, she takes the time needed to make special connections with those Veterans not only on her PACT but with anyone who walks into the clinic. Heidi really is considered the "heart" of the clinic and is always willing to help the team whether that be jumping into lab when there is a difficult stick, assisting in the nurse clinic when Unna boots need two nurses, or just if there is someone waiting, Heidi is the first to jump in and help her fellow nurses.
Several of the Veterans have commented that Heidi is the reason they keep coming back to the VA. "Heidi takes the time to listen to my concerns", "Heidi goes out of her way to explain things so that I can understand what I need to do" and "Heidi is the best!". These comments along with those of the staff make her a nurse to look up to and aspire to be. Heidi is proactive, the first to volunteer to assist in a project and she take initiative to deliver the best service to our Veterans.
