Heidi was reassuring, kind, and caring and a great help emotionally to my family and me.
My brother collapsed at work due to a brain aneurysm and severe bleeding on the brain and was admitted to the ICU ward. He had lots of nurses caring for him while he was in the hospital for 48 hours, but the one that stood out for us was Heidi. We were still unsure if he’d make it and were told to prepare for the worst. Heidi was reassuring, kind, and caring and a great help emotionally to my family and me. The following day, my brother had checks to see if he had any brain function left, we as a family, witnessed this.

After this had happened, my brother was on his own while we tried to deal with our emotions. I walked into my brother’s room and Heidi was holding his hand and comforting him with tears in her eyes. I couldn’t thank her enough for sitting with him while we were all a mess. We were very grateful to have her during that really tough time. My brother's partner collapsed from her emotions after knowing my brother had no more brain function and the support Heidi showed her was amazing. She began to have a panic attack and Heidi did her best to support her. The room next to my brother’s was opened so we could be there as a family.

A couple of days passed, and it was time to register my brother’s death and get certificates. We went back to the ward to give the nurses doughnuts to show our appreciation after looking after my brother so well. Heidi was on shift and a few other nurses that was there and gave us support. We all cried seeing her again. She gave my brother's partner a hug and reassured her. In my opinion Heidi is a great asset to your hospital and a brilliant sister and gave outstanding care to my brother.
