Prior to my experience on the labor and delivery floor at Lake Region, I always heard amazing things about the nurses there. From the moment I met Heidi, it quickly became known to me that she was one of those excellent nurses. Heidi offered incredible support, encouragement, and care during my entire delivery experience, not only for myself but for my husband as well. Things were not progressing well during labor and Heidi actively listened to my frustrations and took the time to encourage me when I was down and discouraged. This fostered a trusting relationship between us very quickly. When things took a scary turn for the worse and I had to be rushed to the OR for an emergency C-section, Heidi never left my side. She stayed with me the entire time and continuously reassured me that I and my baby would be okay. Due to the circumstances, Heidi had to stay well over an hour after her shift to finish charting. Even though she stayed late, she took the time to come back into our room to make sure I was doing okay and had everything I needed. Heidi went above and beyond in more ways than one to ensure I was well cared for. I will never forget the compassionate care she displayed. Lake Region is incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic nurse on their team.
