May 2019 Honoree
heidi wetterauer, RN
We were having a pretty harrowing Valentine's Day. My husband was having strong chills for 3 days. I had finally gotten him into our GP's office, who sent us to the Redmond Swedish ER to get more rapid testing done. They checked blood, urine and found high white cells and lactic acid. Immediately they began protocols for sepsis. They finally found evidence of kidney infection in his CT scan. All of that took place between 3 pm - 9 pm, when they referred us to Issaquah Swedish Hospital for overnight stay. By the time we reached the hospital, it was midnight. Heidi was amazing! She was so thorough and efficient helping with the intake. She made sure my husband was comfortable (after spending 6 hours on an ER gurney that was so appreciated). Her kind compassion and thoughtful care were very above average! Especially appreciated was her sweet smile and laughter, which helped to diffuse a very frazzled day for us!
Thank you, Heidi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
