This nurse provided great comfort during my ICU stay after CABG surgery. She was super compassionate about my situation and attentive to all my individual requests. Her above-and-beyond moment was when she offered to drive to Clarksdale to pickup my CPAP machine which I had left behind because of the emergent nature of my condition. She spoke with my rental host and had the unit to me that same night after having completed her shift!!! That generosity made it easier for me to sleep and recover because the hospital CPAP setup was not working well. I nominate her because she exhibits all the qualities that symbolize the selfless caregiver we all want to be taking care of us in our most vulnerable moments.
