Helen Breshears LVN is a deserving DAISY Nurse for so many reasons. Helen has been a Nurse in our LDRP Unit for many years and has touched the lives of so many people. She has the most cheerful disposition and is willing to help any nurse in any unit in our facility without hesitation. One of our Emergency Department Nurses nominated Helen and this is her story:
I had a patient with a major head injury, skull fracture, and several bleeds going on. We were doing everything we could to keep this young man alive. I remember praying and thinking I wish he had someone to hold his hand because he did not have any family with him and we did not even know his name. After I was done getting all the arrangements done for him to be air lifted to a higher level of care, I went in the room and my heart melted as I saw our LDRP nurse Helen just standing there holding his hand. This young man was at the brink of death but he was not alone, God answered my prayers by having someone at his side. We honor you, Helen, for your care and compassion.
