Helen Williams, RN

I would like to nominate Helen from CCU for the DAISY award because, quite honestly, she epitomizes everything a good nurse should be and more. My Mom was brought to CCU critically ill. Helen showed kindness, compassion, and professionalism right from the start of Mom's admission, which included a very hairy cardio-version and the organisation of a difficult transfer to Beaumont. As an ex ICU nurse I know we are not the most popular relatives, we ask far too many questions which I know can be intimidating for some. Helen kept me fully informed at all times with honesty and compassion, and I thank her from the bottom of my heart. Mom's home now and it's a miracle, she is so thankful and grateful for some more quality time with her family. Please give Helen the DAISY Award; I know she will be humble about it, and as she would say, '...seeing your patient recover is thanks enough..' As a nurse for over 45 years, I know the good ones, and CCU has many, and we are so grateful to them all. But this one is for Helen!
