A patient was transferred to the CCU with worsening renal failure, lethargy, and hypercapnia. She was quite ill but expressed that her family brought her joy, especially her new grandchild. The patient showed her nurse, Helene, many pictures as care was being provided. Helene, being a new mother herself, navigated the patient through a CVS website where photos could be printed. Photos were placed for printing but CVS does not deliver this type of order. After her shift, Helene drove to the CVS and picked up the order. The patient had tears of joy in her eyes as Helene placed them on the whiteboard in her room. The patient expressed during rounds how thankful she was to have a nurse like Helene stating, she is by far my favorite nurse!
