Escobedo was nominated internally. Her nominator submitted the following:

We had a nonverbal female in our ER. There were no family members to speak up for her and no one to be her advocate. Escobedo took on the role of her primary nurse with such compassion and care. She became her patient's voice and made sure to speak up and act whenever she needed to be cleaned or repositioned.

I would be so proud of my nurse if that were my family member because she took such kind care of her. She was emphatic and kind with every bed roll and bed change without complaints. She truly showed integrity the entire shift, as we had the patient for eight hours.

She deserves this DAISY Award for providing such amazing nursing care.
