This charge nurse is awesome! Hema is always available to give a helping hand. She cares not only about her patents but also their family members, as well as her co-workers. As a clinical nurse, Hema often precepts the students who visit our unit. On one particular day, Hema had a student assigned to her. This student was newer and Hema had to watch closely to ensure the duties were carried out safely, effectively, and completely all while caring for a full assignment of patients herself. When asked for help, Hema offered her assistance despite how busy she was at the moment. A tech on our unit asked her for help with a bath for a bed-bound patient. Without hesitation, Hema, along with her student went in to assist the tech. She not only assisted but also took the opportunity to teach the patient, family members, and the student about the importance of mobility, hygiene, wound prevention, and wound care. She is an excellent teacher. She has much knowledge that she goes above and beyond to share with her students about the importance of time management and teamwork. Our team knows that they can count on Hema both as our charge nurse and as a bedside nurse working alongside us. I truly enjoy working with her.
