Henry Maina, RN

Henry was born to be a nurse. During this critical health time for my father, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Henry brought sunshine to the room when he entered with his sensitive, funny, and professional personality.

He spoke to my mother, my father, and me with compassion and explained everything in a way we understood. My father was just starting to eat again after being intubated, and when his tray came, I rang the bell, and Henry came right in. I asked if someone could feed my dad because he is on aspiration precautions. Henry jumped right in and started helping my dad.

Now my dad did aspirate, and Henry was quick to act to make sure that he was okay and safe, and then immediately got help to clean my father up. He stayed to talk to him and make sure he was okay before leaving. Henry was so easy to talk to and the way he interacted with my dad made him smile and he made my mom and I laugh.

Lord knows having that type of personality and care was needed at this time. Henry really showed that he loves his job and patient care is his top priority, as well as communicating with the family.
