Herman Schmitt, RN

My mother was admitted to Banner Boswell Medical Center. As a registered nurse myself, I understand the chaos that can come during the shift---especially when an admit is thrown into the mix.

Despite a busy day, Herman made my mother feel like she was his only patient for the three days he cared for her. He was gentle, kind, and approachable, and took the time to comfort her and listen. He was gracious enough to share about his life, family, being a travel nurse, his cat, and what he likes to do in his off time. These little conversations with my mother helped distract her during a scary turning point in her life, and although they may have been simple to him, they meant the world to her.

Honestly, I even enjoyed conversations with Herman! Plus, he has a distinct laugh that can make anyone's day better. Since her discharge, my mother has mentioned his name a few times and shared about what a difference he made for her. As a traveler, he may not be at Boswell for long, but his impact is lasting.
