Besides having multiple leader changes and being hit with a pandemic, the 3rd floor is still standing strong.
The 3rd-floor team has truly dominated in one of the most trying years we have ever experienced. Besides having multiple leader changes and being hit with a pandemic, the 3rd floor is still standing strong. This unit was designated as a dual unit to accommodate the vast accumulation of COVID 19 patients at the first sign of the pandemic. The team took on the care of multiple patients at the first sign of this, at the time, unknown and deadly virus. With collective efforts among the group, we were not only accomodating the patients suffering from COVID 19, but we also assisted the entire hospital with screening potential COVID individuals. All while sending our associates to other areas of the hospital that were short-staffed.

Even after being hit with a major snowstorm, the 3rd-floor team showed up to provide care to our increased patient load. Through trials, this team has prevailed. I am truly thankful that this team was here, as they are a part of the true core of this hospital. The 3rd-floor team associates show up each day and despite each blow, they manage to get back up even stronger. They put their best foot forward to provide the best patient, family-centered care possible. If any team deserves The DAISY Team Award, the 3rd-floor is it!
