Herold Paul, LPN

I would like to recognize Nurse Herold for the exceptional compassion, dedication, and whole-person care he provided during my hospitalization at AdventHealth Orlando. I was hospitalized for one week and had Herold as my nurse for two days. During that time, he made one of the most difficult and vulnerable experiences of my life feel safer, calmer, and more manageable. 

From the moment he entered my room, Herold treated me as a person, not just a patient. Herold was consistently kind, patient, and attentive. I had many questions, and he answered every one with care and respect. When he did not immediately have an answer, he contacted my doctor right away and returned as soon as he received clarification. His advocacy and follow-through built an immense amount of trust and made me feel truly supported. He was deeply observant and proactive. If I did not look well, he noticed immediately and took the time to assess me thoroughly. He ensured that I was physically stable while also checking in on my emotional and mental well-being. He would not leave my room until he was confident that I was truly okay. 

In moments when I felt scared or overwhelmed, his presence alone brought comfort and reassurance. What truly set Herold apart was his willingness to go above and beyond. He assisted with my personal care, helping me maintain dignity during a very vulnerable moment. He took the time to get to know me as a person and even offered to contact my family when I was not feeling well, ensuring I never felt alone. Herold also supported me in small but meaningful ways, such as offering thoughtful suggestions when I struggled to eat. Those moments may seem small, but they made a tremendous difference during my healing process.
