My husband was in the ED after passing out and hitting his head. When we got to the ED I was told I couldn’t visit, as the ED was not excepting visitors due to lack of capacity, and was told to wait outside until the census was down. I was distraught, worried, confused, and angry.

Hewan came outside, introduced herself, sat next to me, and comforted me. She was so genuinely kind and caring. She assured me I would be able to visit soon. A few minutes after she left, she came back out with the charge nurse and I was able to see my husband. It meant the world to us.

Even though we weren’t in Hewan‘s district, she came to visit, brought us a warm blanket, and helped out our nurse, by starting fluids and giving my husband Tylenol. She went above and beyond for us and her colleagues. I was so impressed and my husband felt very well taken care of. Thank you!
