Hilary Bowman, RN
I first met Hilary at the Marion VA in 2023. I was attending MOVE class. The class was presented by a nutritionist, and Hilary came because she was interested in how the live version compared to the TeleMove version. Hilary explained TeleMove to me. She also explained that I would get a Garmin watch and digital scales that would connect to a tablet associated with the TeleMove program.
When I got the equipment, I could barely get the watch fastened on my wrist. Now, after 14 months, it goes to the 8th notch. Hilary attended each of the MOVE classes, answered questions, and supported the instructors. Hilary shared with me that she had herself lost a considerable amount of weight. And that was a motivating factor for me to enroll in her program. Leadership by example? Because of Hilary’s encouragement, enthusiasm, and recommendations, I have lost 70 pounds. I eat healthy. I am able to maneuver and exercise like I haven’t been in years. I feel that in many ways, Hilary has given me the opportunity to have a healthier lifestyle, which gives me a chance of living longer to see my grandchildren grow up.
