We really bonded, and she helped me to do some soul searching. I am now focusing on who I really am, how caring I am, my patience, and my long-term sobriety goals.
Today when I finished my PT session I went back to my room and discovered a 30 day AA chip.  I was very surprised and emotional.

I started my recovery journey a month ago by heading to a drug and alcohol treatment facility, and on my way there, I suffered a massive stroke. I was taken to the hospital and treated.  Then I went to St. Francis’s IRU for more strengthening prior to going back to the treatment center as my vision and balance were impacted by my stroke.  Hilary admitted me to IRU and learned everything about me during the process.  We really bonded, and she helped me to do some soul searching. I am now focusing on who I really am, how caring I am, my patience, and my long-term sobriety goals.  A new life. Hilary gave me lots of support and encouragement throughout my stay. She has been my nurse several times, and even when she was not assigned to be my nurse, she would always come in and check on me.  I had a lot of fun with her joking around.

Today I see how exceptional of a nurse Hilary really is. She put in the extra effort to reach out to the local treatment center to make this monumental achievement of 30 days of sobriety official by getting me a 30 day AA chip. She isn't even working today but made sure it was all set up for me. I cannot thank her enough for what she did. This really means a lot to me and will help me on my recovery journey.
