My first impression of her was a person who cared first of all and then someone who wanted to help.
Hillary was nominated by a patient who was admitted with a COVID diagnosis. "During these difficult days of fighting COVID, one nurse stands above the rest of the staff that went beyond the call of duty - Ms. Hillary Smith (now Crawford).
She entered my room each time with a voice of 'how can I help you?'. Hillary provided genuine customer service with on-time medications and quick turnarounds of additional requests. The regulations of dressing in PPE each room visit did not slow down her return to take care of me. Hillary took the time to check on me and ask how I was doing. She also had conversations with me in general which were motivating and helped during a time of not being able to have visitors. Hillary had an attitude of gratitude.
My first impression of her was a person who cared first of all and then someone who wanted to help. She deserves recognition as she was a source of sunshine and helpfulness. Hospital stays are not pleasant, but nurses like Hillary are very beneficial to the patient during recovery."
