Through the darkest period, she was the bright light that helped my wife fight the battle that she sadly lost.
My wife spent 20 days in this ICU unit before she passed, and during that time, Hollee was at her side innumerable times, always with a smile and a helping hand, regardless of the request. Through the darkest period, she was the bright light that helped my wife fight the battle that she sadly lost. Everything from a toilet transfer, despite being connected to 3 different machines with catheters on both sides of her neck and IVs up and down her arms to get her set up for a P/T walk, still connected to monitors. Everything was met with a simple "no problem" response and immediate action. Never once were we made to feel like the smallest request was anything other than an honor. And she worked diligently to make my wife as comfortable as possible. In one example, blood draws had become a painful issue because of the frequency and the complications of limb damage. The stress and anxiety of the numerous daily tests were weighing heavily on my wife. To ease her pain, Hollee created a workaround where the nurse could draw blood without the numerous punctures, and the pain, stress, and anxiety simply disappeared. Hollee's dedication to her patients, her compassion, and her incredible talent made our journey more tolerable. We were dealing with a compassionate human rather than someone simply there for a paycheck, evidenced at every turn. It's clear that she has a love of her profession and her job, and she is clearly in my heart forever.
