Holli Harrington, RN
Holli is one of our oncology nurses. Our 20-year-old daughter, A, was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma this summer and has completed five chemo treatments (out of 12) at CARTI.
It has been incredibly hard for A. The treatment is really difficult, and she misses being at college. A has had to put her entire life on hold this year while she fights.
Every single time we come into CARTI, Holli is a light. Not only is she present in some form or fashion for our appointments with Dr. B, but we usually also see her on the infusion floor as she stops by to say a quick hello and check on A. She is also quick to respond to all of our questions via phone and email.
A really wanted to go to Arkansas Comicon. However, her levels just weren't high enough for her to be in crowds yet. Holli's husband P was going to Comicon. They asked us what A had been looking forward to the most at Comicon, and we told them. (She had our permission to share A’s story! We also have a public CaringBridge that hits the highlights of A’s journey!)
Holli arranged for her husband to get her a personalized video from her favorite actress! And an autographed photo! Are you kidding me?! That was huge! I can’t even tell you how huge!
They gave our child a massive gift of their time and energy! They put a smile on A’s face - something that has been harder and harder to do!
Holli (and P) are shining examples of CARTI staff (and spouse) going the extra mile!
