While caring for a critically ill patient, the family made the difficult decision to compassionately wean their loved one. This decision is always hard, but Hollie was with the family for emotional support and comfort. After the difficult decision was made to wean the patient and pursue comfort measures, the family went home, and Hollie's patient was left alone. Hollie's dedication to her patient didn't waiver, recognizing that her patient only had hours in this life, she was determined that the patient wouldn't die alone. She pulled up a chair and sat next to the patient and held their hand till their final moments on earth. Because of Hollie, this patient left this earth with someone beside them. Her grace and amazing spirit were recognized by her co-workers. Hollie was a blessing to this patient and a blessing for all her patients that she meets each day. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
