Holly Adams, RN
I had the joy of meeting Holly in 2023 when I became the Clinical Manager for her son's care. From the very beginning, it was clear that Holly is one of the most caring and thoughtful mothers I have ever met. She is deeply devoted to her three children and consistently approaches her son's complex healthcare needs with respect, understanding, and grace. As the parent of a child receiving home health services, Holly has always demonstrated a strong understanding of the dynamics involved in welcoming nurses into her home. She is considerate not only of her son's needs, but also of the nurses who provide his care, always treating them with appreciation and professionalism.
When Holly learned that her son's DayHab facility was experiencing staffing shortages, she stepped up and took a position there. This allowed her to support the program while remaining close to her son, ensuring he continued to receive excellent care and maintain meaningful social interactions. Her decision reflected both her selflessness and her commitment to the broader community supporting individuals with special needs.
Holly's journey did not stop there. As a nurse, she embraced the opportunity to become her son's nurse with Family First Homecare. In this role, she has been exceptional. She is an outstanding advocate, working diligently to have his healthcare needs reassessed. Through her advocacy and clinical insight, she helped reduce medications while increasing supportive, non-pharmacological measures to promote his long-term health and well-being.
Holly approaches her role with immense respect, dedication, and integrity. She balances professionalism with compassion in a truly inspiring way. Beyond her clinical excellence, Holly is simply a joy to work with. She is always a ray of sunshine, bringing positivity and warmth to every interaction. Holly embodies the spirit of nursing through her advocacy, compassion, and unwavering commitment not only to her son but to everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. She more than deserves this DAISY nomination.
