Holly assisted both nurses with the positioning of the patient for photos, she was especially mindful of making sure the patient's bedding was clean and bedding arranged so as to not risk additional pressure injuries.
A patient had been confused post OP and cursing at the nursing staff, non-combative. Wound care nurses were called for a dressing change per the surgeon's orders. The patient was unable to assist nurses to roll or turn. The patient had numerous wounds that needed to be assessed, photographed, and treated. Holly was "the soul of patience" during the 25 minutes when we worked with the patient. Holly was consoling the patient, assuring her that we were working quickly, she was both kind and gentle. We are often alone during consults with our patients at the hospital due to the enormous responsibilities of the bedside nurses, however, Holly wanted to not only observe her patient through the eyes of the wound nurses but also be there to reassure her patient and comfort her during this uncomfortable wound care treatment. The patient was peaceful and in no distress when all three of us left the patient's room. Holly is a joy to work with and has been consistently observed giving her patient the very best care possible. She represents our nursing staff so well.
