My husband was scheduled for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. He and I were in PRE-OP, he was next to go in for the procedure, when he suffered cardiac arrest, I immediately called for his nurse, and she came in trying to wake him up. Since he was not responding, she called CODE BLUE, and many people came within seconds. I was sitting outside the curtain of his pre-op room and GOD sent a wonderful nurse named Holly Dorame, who came and sat by me and held my hand. She told me she knew how I felt and how shocking this was and explained everything to me so I knew what was going on. Within a short time, I heard someone from the CPR team say, “I have a strong pulse,” and my husband started talking. Holly then said “see he is ok”. Still holding my hand and hugging me. The next day, she literally came to the ICU to check on my husband and me. How great is it that a nurse took time away from their duties to check on someone? She is a GREAT ASSET to Mercy Gilbert, and I will always remember what she did for my husband and me.
