Holly and her mom both performed CPR on the young man after determining the patient was pulseless and not breathing.
A young man down at Oak Island had a grand mal seizure while in the ocean. Another young man pulled him out of the water and Holly and her mom both performed CPR on the young man after determining the patient was pulseless and not breathing. They were able to get a pulse after a few rounds of CPR. They stayed with the young man until Oak Island Water Rescue Team arrived. He was transported to the Wilmington Hospital in the PICU unit and placed on a ventilator. After 24 hours he was weaned from the ventilator and extubated and is now on the road to recovery. Since then Holly has been in communication daily with the family, checking in on the young man. Had Holly and her mom not been there the young man may not have made it. Holly went above and beyond especially in this day and time with COVID-19 to perform CPR and to continue to check in on the young man. The family has since posted on the Oak Island Water Rescue page about the incident and how Holly went above and beyond to do CPR on their son. There is also a picture of the young man and his story. This also aired on WWAY's news station as well.
