Honesto spoke to the staff’s passion to ensure that our patients’ care did not stop when they left the hospital.
Honesto consistently goes above and beyond with any project presented that will improve patient care or staff safety. He shares the vision and mission of Kaiser by working with the team to establish a process, implement the process, glean feedback, revise, and reinstitute the process based on the feedback. Using this process, he promotes a speak-up culture, empowers, and engages staff, and promotes their accomplishments when the project comes to fruition.
Another example that shows his passion for patients, was the “Caring Hearts, Caring Words” project which is part of the Connection Bundle. He spoke to the staff’s passion to ensure that our patients’ care did not stop when they left the hospital. He created a caring wall, that promotes a card the minute the patient is admitted, the nurses caring for the patient during their stay say something in the card that they know personally about the patient. They then sign it and send it to the patient’s home post-discharge. This creates a caring connection between staff and patients. This was rolled out on the 4th floor and Honesto works with the team to ensure a smooth process.
