February 2024 Honoree
Honey Ferrer, RN
We have a very young cancer patient with a poor prognosis who is having goals of care discussions and planning home vs. inpatient hospice. It’s been very trying and emotional for this patient struggling with pain management and procedures. She is tired and weak but wants to write letters to her parents, husband, and kids. Our nurse, Honey, sat down with her and transcribed the patient's words for her on her night shift. Letters complete. Honey continually volunteers her time for magical supportive moments like this inside and outside the hospital. She is constantly pushing herself to grow, achieve her BSN, and then become an oncology certified nurse, the non to her portfolio presentation. She mentors staff constantly and is such a shining example of what passion for her work with these incredible patients and families is all about. Thank you for your constant gifts to others and your team.
Thank you, Honey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
