Hong T Nguyen, RN
I can never thank Hong enough for everything she did for my dad and for my family during one of the hardest times of our lives. From the moment she became his nurse, we knew he was in good hands. There was one moment that I will never forget—my dad was having a hard time breathing, and Hong immediately recognized what was happening. She acted so quickly and confidently, using her knowledge and experience to put him on the BiPAP, which helped him breathe much easier. Watching someone you love struggle to breathe is terrifying, but seeing Hong stay calm and act right away gave us hope and comfort. I truly believe her quick thinking made a life-saving difference for my dad.
My dad also has wounds on his legs that require frequent dressing changes, and Hong always took her time with them. She never rushed, no matter how busy the unit seemed. She was incredibly gentle, patient, and made sure my dad was as comfortable as possible. You could tell she genuinely cared about him, not just as another patient, but as a person. She always treated him with kindness, dignity, and respect, and that meant so much to our family.
What really stood out about Hong was the way she cared for all of us, not just my dad. My mom and I had so many questions throughout his hospitalization, and she never once made us feel like we were bothering her. She always took the time to explain things in a way we could understand and made sure we felt informed and reassured. No matter how stressful her shift must have been, she always greeted us with a smile and a positive attitude. She made us feel like she truly cared about how we were doing too, and that kind of compassion is something you never forget.
Because of Hong, an experience that could have been filled with fear and uncertainty became much more manageable. Her knowledge, confidence, patience, and genuine kindness gave us peace of mind every single day. She didn't just care for my dad—she cared for our whole family. We will always be grateful for everything she did, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better nurse. Hong is truly one of a kind, and in our eyes, she is simply the best.
