Moments after returning from a brief NICU stay post-surgery, Hope noticed that the NICU staff had been administering the wrong formula. She took immediate action to discuss with the team, NICU, and our other son's nurse, who it turns out had the same error, switching them over to Pedialyte while awaiting delivery of the correct formula.
It wasn't just her attention to detail that stood out to my wife and me, but also that later that afternoon and the following morning Hope continually showed concern about how we, as parents, felt. She noticed that we took the error well but was concerned that there might be more under the surface. Her empathy and care for us as parents in addition to our son was exceptional.
Throughout our five-month journey for our two twin boys, both at an outside hospital and at CHOP, we have met a number of very special people who have had a lasting impact on our boy's development and on us as parents. Hope is an exceptional nurse and deserves recognition.
