I asked her so many questions and when I was really struggling, she kept it positive and listened to me.
Hope was such a huge help during our 85 days in the NICU with our son L. She was one of our favorites and LOVED when I walked in and saw that Hope was our nurse. She always had a positive attitude and would be so honest and helpful with us. She involved us in L's cares and we learned so much from her. I think my favorite part was finding out that she was certified as an LC (and currently BF'ing herself). Although the LC that helped was great, hearing what Hope was doing and getting her experience was invaluable. I asked her so many questions and when I was really struggling, she kept it positive and listened to me. Breastfeeding/pumping was how I felt like I could take care of L and it can be hard, but I was determined and Hope supported me with that. She also recommended an NP to talk to when I was in pain and almost gave up (that also helped her). One particular moment I remember is when I walked in and Hope was feeding L and he took his entire bottle! Her smile and excitement around this accomplishment were amazing! It was something to celebrate and I loved how invested she was in his accomplishments. Overall our stay was tough and having someone like Hope on our care team was extremely beneficial. I am so appreciative that she was in my life during that time and she deserves recognition.
