Hubert Nelson, RN, works on the 2 East (med/surg) unit. He was nominated by a patient for being hands-on, even though he was not on duty. Hubert came in to make sure the patient was taken care of. The patient’s family really enjoyed getting to know him during the hospitalization. The patient wrote, “Not only are you knowledgeable in your job, but also very caring and personable. Sitting down while the nurse was off duty to watch TV with me meant a great deal. Your care and attention was tremendous.”
