In what has been the second most stressful week of my life, I am so incredibly thankful for Huey- what an amazing nurse. I am a nurse manager at APH, my husband was a patient on 6A, making some of the hardest decisions for him this week. I met Huey on Monday and she has taken care of my husband every shift this week and I am so thankful for her. PETALS are truly demonstrated! Her passion for nursing radiates through, it isn't just a job. The empathy displayed is real and you can see that her peers respect her. I know my husband was happy to see her face when she greeted him every morning. Huey has a passion for nursing, a great personality, and gives such thorough care. You can feel the genuine love of the profession. I know that she has been part of the OH team for 9 years because we chatted in the elevator. The love of the profession is evident. She puts her all into it. I know, being a nurse, that Huey had busy days with my husband, attitude - always amazing.
When I look at the nursing profession, it makes me so proud to have colleagues like Huey. She is truly awesome. She could tell when my husband wasn't feeling well and when he was cranky because Huey gets to know her patients. They are like family to her. I am thankful for Huey for the care that she gave my husband, in what has been a very hard experience Huey has been such a bright light. She is truly is an Extraordinary Nurse, I cannot thank her enough.
