Hugo Hernandez, BSN, RN

I would like to recognize Hugo Hernandez for the amazing care he gave me during my hospital stay. From the beginning, Hugo not only cared for me but also acknowledged my whole family. He would start conversations with me whenever I was in pain to help distract and comfort me. He often asked my family if they needed anything, making sure all of us felt supported. Being in the hospital has always made me nervous, and I really hated being away from home. But with Hugo, I felt comfortable and safe, almost like being back in my own bedroom. He created a warm and welcoming environment, which made a big difference for me.

Hugo also went above and beyond by advocating for us when we didn’t have a voice. He connected us with resources we didn’t even know we could access, which was incredibly helpful. Even though we didn’t understand what the doctors and the other nurses were saying due to language barriers, he stood in and assisted us and made sure we understood what the process was going to be. He also shows the steps of how he is going to do it, like take vitals, provide meds, and show documents. He goes in-depth about whatever is happening. His kindness, compassion, and advocacy truly stood out, and I will always be grateful for the comfort and care he gave my family and me.
