Hunter had a patient that was actively dying whose spouse was also a patient at the hospital. He personally went to the spouse's unit and brought her back to his patient so they could spend the patient's final moments together. Hunter went above and beyond the call to provide quality precious time to a family.

Hunter had a patient that was actively dying. The patient was made DNR/CMO. The patient’s spouse was also a patient on another unit and was being discharged to SNF in a few hours. Hunter got permission to move the patient’s spouse to the patient’s room so that the spouse could be with the patient until she had to discharge. Hunter also requested that the transport time for the spouse be pushed as long as possible to provide the spouse with more time with the patient. He went to another tower and retrieved the patient’s spouse himself and brought her to the patient’s room. Hunter arranged the beds side by side so the patient and his spouse could hold hands and see each other. The patient’s family was also present. It was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever witnessed as a nurse.
