I came here to UPenn in very bad physical condition, I was injured and wounded, I needed rest and good care. As with a lot of physical ailments, poor mental health was a big factor that contributed to my condition. Currently in my life I am going through dome major challenges, mainly I am homeless, completely alone, no friends, family or support system. Not only was my body hurt when I arrived here, but my heart was heavy as well. From the moment I checked in, I have been so touched by the compassion, professionalism, and authenticity of every single staff member I have interacted with. Of course, from a clinical angle, UPenn is world-class. I knew I would be receiving the best medical care, but I’ve been so impressed with the people skills of the staff here. The staff here truly lifted my spirits and helped me recover some of the humanity/dignity that I lost during a real time of struggle. The isolation, solitude of life on the streets can be very difficult, while I was here I never felt alone and someone who cared was always close by. Thank you UPenn team, forever grateful.

They were so attentive and on the ball. Great work.

I would like to thank all of the amazing nurses that made this stay as best as it could possibly be. Showed genuine care, made me laugh and smile! Stay amazing! Thank you! Please know that each of you being so amazing, sweet, and kind is what makes having to be here so much better!

My mom was admitted to Founders 12, and I’ve been staying with her between 11a-7p every day since she was admitted. These long visits gave me a chance to observe the exceptional level of professionalism, expertise, and warmth every nurse and service staff provided to my mom (and presumably all other patients). My mom’s every need was/is well attended to. She does not feel like a burden on the staff, which is incredible considering the level of care she needs. It’s difficult to single out one or a few nurses. Everyone we’ve encountered has been just great. I am amazed and admire the hard work involved in taking care of patients around the clock. Yet the nurses and staff on Founders 12 never failed to deliver the service with genuine smiles. Thank you very much for treating your patients as individuals and almost like your own loved ones. Having lived in several countries and traveled around the world frequently, I know Penn Medicine’s Founders 12 team is unmatched anywhere else.
