Hydee is not just an experienced RN with vast stores of energy, enthusiasm, and applied knowledge, she is a true humanitarian worthy of the term. Hydee devotes herself not just to the Veterans she is charged with for their care and the support for their medical staff and family members, but she is a caregiver to those of us RNs who care for others. She is the epitome of the phrase, “A Nurse’s Nurse”!

When my 93-year-old father, a WWII Veteran, went into hospice care last year, she tirelessly researched treatment and Veteran assistance programs for our family, which gave us direction for Dad’s care plan.
 
When Dad finally passed, Hydee sent warm food to our home! She intuitively knew I hadn’t eaten a thing in 2 days, and certainly was in no position to cook a hot meal for myself and my disabled wife.

Hydee knew the food was good for the body, but the kindness of her gesture was good for my soul.

You don’t teach compassion like Hydee’s in Nursing school. It comes from within and is priceless when generously shared with friends and strangers alike. I have personally witnessed Hydee comfort and help hundreds of Veterans who will never know of her expertise, love, and devotion to her calling to help the sick and dying.
