Ian does little gestures like this that truly make an impact on the patient's care and experience
Ian is such a delight to all the patients and families he cares for. Ian is always going above and beyond to meet the needs of not only his patients but his team as well. He is consistently recognized by his patients for the compassion and empathy he shows.
A great example from a recent patient is when Ian stayed over to walk around units, call the store room, and worked with NOM to obtain a biliary bag to help his patient be more comfortable. Ian does little gestures like this that truly make an impact on the patient's care and experience. Ian supports all our chemo patients and their families through new diagnoses as well. He will sit with the patient and family to offer support. Ian is a great team player. Ian consistently stays over to help pass medications on the night shift when staffing is a little tighter. Ian is frequently in charge and always rounds on his fellow caregivers to help in any way he can.
Ian truly is the definition of a team player. Ian is a preceptor for new nurses and makes sure the nurse gets the best experience possible. Ian is always willing to help with service recovery or difficult patients and families when no management is present. Ian is very selfless. Ian is also great with being a preceptor for students and putting education as a priority. He always volunteers to take students on for their practicum hours and enjoys every minute of teaching. Ian makes sure to make the most of the students' time and education. Ian always tries to get the student different experiences even if it means going to care for a different parent to get the student that experience. He truly cares about every aspect of being a preceptor.
Overall, Ian is a nurse you would want to care for you. He is a team player, compassionate, empathetic, and represents the values of the Cleveland Clinic. Ian is valued by all his patients, family members, and staff. Ian is a great nurse, coworker, and support system on the unit.
