May 2025 Honoree
Ian Conway, R.N.
I came into the ER in significant pain and spent many hours undergoing labs, a CT scan, an MRI, and coordinating a transfer to Rochester for an Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography. Throughout it all, Ian was exceptional — proactive, attentive, and deeply committed to ensuring I was cared for. Each time my pain returned, Ian immediately consulted with the physician and returned promptly with medication. Despite managing multiple responsibilities, Ian never let me remain in pain longer than necessary.
Ian brought a calm, positive, and supportive presence to every room he entered. He took the time to talk to me, listen, and offer genuine care. You can always tell when someone asks, “Is there anything else I can do?" Out of obligation versus true compassion, and with Ian, it was always the latter. His sincerity and empathy were evident in every interaction. He was my strongest advocate, working seamlessly with the doctor, technicians, and other staff on my behalf.
Trust is essential when you're in a vulnerable state, and Ian built that trust effortlessly. Anyone under his care is truly fortunate. Ian, you were the reason my ER experience was a positive one. Please know that you make a difference, even when it may not be immediately apparent. I’m incredibly grateful to you. Never change. Mayo is lucky to have you.
