I have had the privilege of working with Ian during several clinical rotations, and his compassion consistently stands out. He is deeply attentive to patients’ needs, always advocating for their comfort and ensuring their voices are heard.

One particular moment that stayed with me was when a patient asked Ian to simply sit with her, talk, and be by her side. She felt so at ease with him that she only wanted Ian nearby, which I thought was a beautiful reflection of the trust and comfort he provides.

Beyond his patient care, Ian is an incredible peer and teammate. He goes above and beyond to support his classmates, taking the time to explain concepts clearly and ensuring others feel confident and supported. His intelligence, kindness, and selflessness make him not only a great nursing student but also someone who truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award.
