Ian Lynam, RN

Ian was the nurse of a patient who was admitted after a mental health crisis. The patient’s son was involved with her care and was very overwhelmed by the situation. Ian was there for him and was very patient, understanding, and frequently gave him updates. The son was very impressed by and thankful for Ian’s care for both him and his mom, and came up to the charge desk 2 days in a row to make sure it was known that Ian provided great care. Ian’s ability to provide therapeutic communication, and his ability to set aside all other tasks and situations to solely focus on this patient in a crisis, and her son, who was facing an incredibly emotional and overwhelming situation brought peace and comfort and replaced fear and guilt with confidence that his mom was in the best hands, and is receiving the care she deserves. Ian went above and beyond to not just look at the patient’s medical needs, but her emotional needs and the needs of her community.
