My grandpa was admitted to the ICU for various reasons, and it was eventually suggested to begin comfort care, where he passed after 14 long, emotional hours. His first nurse, Brenna, did an incredible job communicating with my family and me while keeping my grandpa as comfortable as possible. When her shift ended, she introduced us to Morgan. Throughout the night, Morgan brought a more comfortable chair in for my dad, wrapped my grandma in a warm blanket, and kept us hydrated. When grandpa passed, she kindly explained the next steps as we were totally lost on where to go next. Their actions may not seem like much, but when their job is to make their patients comfortable and they go the extra mile by keeping the patient’s family comfortable, it makes all the difference and will truly stay with us forever. Thank you so much to nurses Morgan, Brenna, my close friend Lindsay, and the rest of the staff in Jefferson Torresdale ICU for your compassion and kindness. You’re all superheroes and so appreciated.
