My husband came to UT Hospital with stroke symptoms. Tests confirmed he did indeed have a stroke and was admitted to the hospital from ER. He returned to his room after being gone for a procedure. His BP had elevated, and he was nauseous with a severe headache. When Iesha Tucker came to do her evaluation at the start of her shift, she said immediately this was not what she was told, meaning he was worse than she had expected. He had been given oxycodone for the headache pain, and we explained he never takes anything for pain. The nurse asked if they could give Narcan, which they did. My husband became more lethargic, not able to speak or move his limbs. Iesha immediately called the Rapid Response Team and he was taken to a Critical Care Unit for 24 hours.
I am so thankful Iesha was knowledgeable enough and observant to see my husband was in trouble. I don't know what the outcome would have been had Iesha not recognized my husband needed critical care at that time. Iesha exhibits an eagerness to help with confidence. I had encountered her in the hallway days earlier and she was very friendly and offered help without me asking. My husband is going home today with no rehab!

Iesha is an amazing nurse who always provides exceptional care to her patients! It is an honor to have her on the 6S team! She's one of the best nurses I've ever had the honor to work with.
